June 17, 2022Health literature distributed in Pike County

Southeast Alabama AHEC’s Program Manager, Ayanna Sterling visited three senior centers in Pike County to distribute over 300 health literature materials as a part of C.A.N.H.I.’S ongoing efforts to advance health literacy. The materials covered topics such as COVID-19, blood pressure, exercise, food, and nutrition, and depression.
A special thank you to SCADC’s Area Agency on Aging, under the direction of Director Sharon Redd, and the center managers of the Goshen Multipurpose Senior Center (Goshen, AL - Mrs. Bobbie Leverett), the Robert E. Barr Senior Center (Brundidge, AL – Mrs. Marcell Arnold), and the Troy Nutrition Center (Troy, AL – Mrs. Nikki Jones and Mrs. Jessica Cox).
It was a pleasure to visit Pike County seniors and pro-vide them with helpful information on various health-related topics.
